We were delighted to discover this terrific take-out/delivery pizza joint yesterday! I am a New Yorker, and thus a very hard sell on pizza. This delicious, thin-crust style pizza is made fresh and cooked to order. In addition, it's light and not greasy, while retaining that tangy cheese taste unique to East Coast style pizza. They have a really large number of toppings available, which always raises an alarm with me that the plain cheese slice might be lacking - are they trying to hide bland or crappy taste with many layers of additional flavor? Not the case here! We split a plain slice - which was giant, by the way - and it was delicious. I have yet to try any with toppings but am looking forward to it. To top it off, the customer service was top notch. The gentleman who helped us was super friendly and attentive. It's really hard to find great pizza in this area, so I am psyched to return to A-town! PS - If you want to pop in and grab a slice, there are two tables, however this is not a "restaurant" in the conventional sense.

I would have given more stars, but the toppings on my last order were sparse, so the stars are sparse. I'll update again. Hopefully there will be appropriate amounts of topping on my next pizza.

This review is more about business practices than the pizza, which I last had years ago and was 'not bad' as I recall. First is why I stopped eating there - got a coupon, tried to order the pizza with half one topping, half another and have it charged one topping; they would not do it for coupon pizzas, only non-coupon - and they were not friendly on top of it. That was that fr years for the place. Next practice is they advertise by leaving flyers on parked cars. Rude. Recently I wanted to see if they had fixed that topping policy and called to ask. I was told the guy didn't know and I'd have to call back that night and talk to the manager to find out how the pricing worked. I asked, 'what would you do if someone came in right now with a coupon and ordered?' He hung up on me. Not good. Then I called a later night to ask one more time, and got a nice guy. I give him a lot of credit for his honest. Problem is, his honest it yet another bad business practice. In the talk about coupons, where he said it now could be done, and I said that's not a bad deal then, he honestly said, 'but for coupon pizzas you get a lot less toppings. For normal price they put a lot on but they say 'it's just a coupon pizza'. Well, the coupon says nothing about getting a second-rate pizza for the discounted price and find this dishonest, cheap, bad. Worse, the customer has no good way to even know it's happening, if they don't tell them. I don't want the guy to get in trouble for being honest or not to tell more people, but I think this should be publicized and criticized. So, it looks like I'm not shopping there again.

Good pizza, terrible delivery service. Their pizza is good, which is why I keep going back, but their "free" delivery service is terrible. They only bring change when requested, and even then, will only bring paper bills (which translates into $16.30 pizza? They get to keep the extra $.70). The first time I ordered their delivery it didn't occur to me to ask for change, and when the guy arrived, I had to give him the whole $20 for a $14 pizza. Ridiculous. They shouldn't put their customers in that position.

We all have our favorite neighborhood pizza joint and this is quickly becoming one of mine. Although it is not the sit down type place that's okay. Their Greek Style Pizza is what keeps me coming back for more. It is just absolutely fabulous! My other half does not like sun-dried tomatoes so he makes me order chicken instead of the s-dt and the guys there always cater to our request without the extra charge. Very cool!! I've had five out of eleven specialty pizzas and I would say I love their All-Meat Pizza second. I have yet to try their A Town Special which has 20 toppings! But I will soon. On to the pizza - great chewy on the inside crunchy on the outside crust, ingredients taste fresh, different variety of sauces :), and slightly on the thinner New York Style side :). I'll probably won't try their sides or other dishes, maybe the calzone (cuz the dough they make is deeeelish.) Service - I've only done pick-up to get my pizza which takes about 20 minutes. They do free delivery (min. order $10.) The deal I usually use is their "buy one regular and get the second 50%" and get the small specialty size for about $20 bucks that feeds two hungry adults and a small child. Not bad for the quality of the pizzas. And I'm not sure if they still do this but if you save their number in your cell phone and show them they'll give you like 10% (i think?) off. Awesome place!

Living in the Union City/Fremont area, there aren't many pizza by the slice places. At least none that i know of. But this place has been around since we moved in to our house in the area about 10 years ago. And it is fantabulous! I don't think i have ever ordered more than just by the slice. For $3 you have a huge slice of a single topping pizza. And you could also get a can of soda for 50 cents more. This has to be the best pizza by the slice in Union City. Especially because it only takes about 5 minutes for them to make it. So i always call ahead when i want a slice so it'll be ready instantly when i get there.

this place has been knocked for its bad delivery service but every time i've ordered delivery, I haven't had a problem. This pizza reminds me of my favorite pizzeria back home...so I have to give it 5 stars. I love they way they make their crust. I guess I'm not into that "california style" pizza everyone digs over here, which is fine, but I prefer A-Town to anything I've had out here. This is my go-to pizza joint now.

Good Food and a really good attitude. Very reasonably priced. I also like the online ordering part. They also sell by the Slice. And if you don't like the "Manufactured" pizzas, this is the place to go. All it took was one order to make me a regular customer. Good Sauce and topping options too.

yep, you were right about the service---how about no service. i called in about 940 on a sunday, and they close at ten. any other pizza place i have called--and i call in to a lot when i travel, will deliver to me if i order before closing. any place if you go into before closing will take care of you, but for some reason, this one does not. well--write them off my list then

This is my favorite spot for the hubby to pick up a pizza on the way home from work. I love their crust. It's something inbetween a thick and thin crust . Chewy (in a good way) on the inside, and crunchy on the outside. Cheese and sauce is proportional to eachother, and they are generous with the toppings. Its something like 15 bucks for a large 2 topping pizza, which is cheaper and better than the local Round Table. I haven't experienced the delivery yet, I'm afraid they might be losing a star if I tried!

My neighbor and I have been ordering from A Town for a while now. Tonight was the first negative experience that we had with them. The new owner who's name is either Glen or Gene was very rude to us on the phone. He wanted to charge us for extra sauce and when we said that we didn't want the extra charge, our pizza came with (literally) no sauce. When we called to express our concern, he could care less saying that the crispy crust that we asked for thinned out the sauce and that basically we should deal. I know it's Monday night football season and today being Monday, they are probably busy, yet the way we were treated as loyal customers was uncalled for. Not sure if I am going to order again. May try for Me and Ed's next time.

I don't know if I should be proud or embarrassed...the guy told me I was their #1 customer. But hey, they have green olives & sundried tomatoes as toppings in this land of cut out pizzas. You can order online & the specials are available too. The only thing I would change is their hours!

this family business makes the best pizza i have ever tasted. ever since i started going to a-town pizza, i deny to eat at other pizza places. the other day i ordered from a Pizza Hut, and their dough was like stale crackers....seriously. at A-town pizza, the dough and sauce are made fresh and you can see them make your pizza unlike other pizza places. the pizza may seem pricey at first, but the size is HUGE, and the quality of the pizza is amazing. sure the place is small, but it makes you feel at home eating there and the workers have great personalities. i suggest going after 5 to catch hussain, the manager. the delivery is average, just dont expect a rush delivery. i highly recommend a-town pizza to every pizza/pasta/salad lover, they make the best food!

Is this place going to win any awards for their pizza? No, probably not. However, it has always been consistent and it's good. I've lived in hayward for about a year and we order from here about once a month. The people are ALWAYS kind. The delivery drivers are also great (I think they know us now). Delivery times have always been fast (except one time but I think it was a holiday weekend). I recommend that you try the garlic twists. It's definitely the best option for pizza in Hayward.

On the one hand: man, did that delivery order take an awful long time to fulfill. Figured that hey, it's a random Thursday night past 8pm, we're maybe a mile-and-change from the joint, we'll probably get our order in like 30 minutes... and it it took solidly three times that before the delivery person popped up. Oof. (Came so late that the restaurant itself had shut down, where we weren't sure we were going to have phone contact with anyone if the driver did not show.) On the other hand: holy wow, that was a LOT of pizza for the money! Absolutely got our money's worth from this place. The small pizza was not all that small; the large pizza would be an extra large anywhere else. We have leftovers available for an entire weekend of snacking on. These are not fancy little petite discs of stingy ingredients; these are big ol' pizza pie affairs. Lots of toppings to choose from, too, from your requisite pepperoni to things festooned with spinach and pineapple and artichoke hearts. On the... uh, third hand, as for the pizza itself: it was fine. Nothing I'm going to scream about from the rooftops and sing the praises of! Nothing I'm going to quietly malign and grumble about online. Moderately thin crust; six of ten on the greasiness scale. Save the quibbles about the delivery time, it offered everyone a nice big slice or four to tuck into while kicking back and watching TV. Not exactly ambrosia... but man, have I had far, far worse.

Perfection in pizza form. Exquisitely executed slices of pizza for lunch on a daily basis... For a bargain price. This conveniently located, small, corner pizza shop is the ultimate local lunch spot. The two gentlemen working at the store today were on the money. They seemed like they were the kind of people you could see on a TV show; the wacky, zany, dynamic duo. We ordered and got what we ordered in due time... And the pizza itself? Oh, brother. It was to die for. Not saying that I would literally die to get some of it, but it was that good. I would probably fist fight someone for it, at the least. A friend and I ordered two slices of pepperoni, and essentially, we got a third of a gigantic 20 incher. The slices were 10 inches long. A true American establishment, fit for only the bravest and loyal Americans. I felt like singing the national anthem as I left with the copious amounts of pizza for $6. It is the best 10 inches money can buy.

Don't place an order thru the yelp app. I placed an order a 5:30 P.M. and called at 6:39 and I was told they never received an online order and I need to call whoever I ordered it thru. I then got a call like 5 minutes later about the delivery from the restaurant and explained what I was told when I called the restaurant and there was a lot of confusion. I just gave up and ordered from Dominos.

A meatball sub and a salad for $6! Expected it to be sort of small, but it was actually a whole sandwich and decent sized salad. The salad was really good, just a salad but the perfect just a salad. Thick slices of tomatoes, parmesan cheese, thinly sliced cucumbers, the good kind of croutons that are crunchy but not hard, and lettuce that's the right amount of those more green ones & the normal kind. It was also very proportionate, as in there was enough that you could have an even amount of each ingredient in every bite and not have to end up with a pile of just lettuce when the good stuff is gone. The Caesar dressing was delicious. The sub was good too, the meat was cooked well and had good flavor. The sauce they cooked it in was good. Bread was good but a little soft, and the meatballs were cut a little thin. If it had a little more meat in it it'd be better. Overall, solid dinner for a good price. It's worth what you pay for, I'd say 3 1/2 stars probably.

Best pizza in town! The pizza has the right amount of sauce, the ingredients are perfectly cooked, and everything still moist and yet the crust are still toasted and crunchy. Prices are also very reasonable.

NOTES: ~ Free delivery! ~ Minimum order of $15. ~ This review is based off delivery ONLY! I have not set foot in the actual establishment. I hadn't ordered delivery in aaaaaagggeeeeeesssss but was feeling lazy as hell so opted for some good ol' fashioned pizza. This is the first time I tried A-Town because I was craving something a little less corporate (such as Domino's or Pizza Hut) and more local. As you can tell by how many stars I've given, I'm definitely happen with my decision. Customer Service: The delivery guy was less than friendly, but I can't fault him since chipper deliverymen are rare anyway. What mattered was that my pizza arrived at a reasonable time (within the estimated timeframe) and my order was spot on. Food: I opted for a Medium 2+ Topping Pizza to share. What's great about A-Town Pizza is that although they do have their pre-made specialties, there's also plenty of room for customisation, ranging from 1-3 topping pizzas with a large variety of ingredients as well ranging from the classic pepperoni to artichoke hearts for the veggie lover. I decided on Meatballs & Fresh Garlic (what could go wrong with that combo??) and it was delicious and the reheated leftovers were even more delicious the next day! My little cousin wanted to try their Caesar Salad and Garlic Bread as well. The Caesar Salad was decent and my only complaint is that their garlic bread was just a bit tough to chew, but still reasonable. --- A-Town Pizza is a great option if you're tired of the same old chains an want something different. The pizza is absolutely delicious with fair pricing to boot. I am definitely looking forward to my next lazy night in!

I ordered a pizza for delivery & it took two hours to get to my apartment. By the time it arrived, I was so annoyed that I wasn't even hungry anymore. My friends had left to go get take out instead. I won't be ordering from here ever again.

I feel a little betrayed by this spot. Iv been a loyal customer for at least 2 years.. only to find out that they cook their slices half way and they reheat it when you order. Lol I just got off the phone with the guy who works there and I'm completely shocked. Anyways time to throw away their menus at my work. I will completely stop recommending my customers to you guys. I work for a hotel so you must of had lots of business from my spot. But anyways bronco billys it is..

If you like greasy pizza, then this is the place for you!! Ordered from this place tonight, now it's heartburn city and looking for the tums.... Not sure what the hype was on some of these previous reviews, but it was pretty bad in my opinion. Garlic bread wasn't very good either. Our search continues for another pizza place.

So my mom insisted on ordering from here even after I told her not to. The same incompetent, rude man who did not help me did not help her either. She asked for 2 orders of the spaghetti & meatballs dish. She made me pick it up without telling me what she ordered. I went to pick up her order and they gave me 2 medium sausage pizzas. Two things wrong here: 1) I should've asked her what she ordered and 2) the spaghetti dish doesn't come with meatballs...it comes with ground beef. Regardless of our minor errors, how in the world do you get 2 medium sausage pizzas from 2 spaghetti and meatballs? The man is rude, incompetent and RUDE (did I say that already?). If you must employ him, please make him work in the back and bring someone pleasant to handle the storefront. Needless to say, I was seething with anger.

I ordered a medium garlic supreme and it was SOOOOOO greasy and salty. Besides the pizza being greasy, I liked that the crust was really good. The place itself is super small and the service was just okay.

Terrible customer service. I tried to order online and when I called to confirm my order 1. They speak zero English and 2. When I finally got someone on the phone I can understand the person says "why didn't you just come in and order?" Ummmm excuse me? Cancelled my order.

There's not a lot of places that you can get just a slice in Union City so its nice to have this place around. I've been there about a dozen times and always get the same good quality. I like the mushroom, garlic, green peppers, and spinach (in various combinations of 2). One thing to note. ask them not to cut the slice in half. I have no clue why they do that, stops you from being able to fold the slice in half and eat it New York style.

  • Sharon W.

I would definitely recommend A-Town Pizza! You can order online easily and quickly which I love. They accept credit or debit, but you can also choose to pay in cash if you'd like. They also offer FREE DELIVERY if your order is over $15! My calzone was made and delivered within 30 minutes! The large calzone is absolutely huge I didn't even finish 1/5 of it before I got full. The dough is delicious and crispy. The cheese melts in your mouth and is stringy. Overall, just a really good calzone. In my order I requested they draw something cool on the box and they didn't disappoint. Hahaha. I'll definitely order from here again. Give this place a try!

Good pizza horrible service. Took over an hour and forty minutes to receive my pizza and after calling twice. First time I called was an hour after ordering, they said it'd be there in the next 20 mins, 40 mins go by still nothing so I called again. The worker I spoke to didn't seem to care, just tried blaming it on the website used to order it. Like I said good pizza bur awful delivery service and customer service. Pizza came luke warm which is not a surprise.

I love their pizzas. Their pizzas are thin crust, just the way I like them. My favorite here is the Gourmet Veggie Pizza. It's just so delicious with the creamy garlic sauce and the veggie toppings.

We keep ordering from here but hubby likes the garlic supreme better than the garlic chicken now, so we order Garlic supreme and plain ol pepperoni. Honestly, when I reheat this on my pizza stone (400 for 8-10 minutes) it's better than when it first arrives--and it's delicious then! It's greasy though; some in my family mop the top before consuming. Delivery has consistently been better than that first time.

Order an XL or by the slice. The other sizes just aren't as good! The crust is thin and crispy. The toppings are plentiful. I like the combo and my husband gets pepperoni, sausage and jalapeno. Call ahead for pick up or delivery! They also have decent lunch combos for a slice and soda.

  • Ralph R.

I had my doubts but took a risk. Had to say i will be back. Very good Pizza! Much better than other local pizza places in the area. Fast friendly service and pizza was done on time as promised. They paid attention to detail to all my requests from thin crust to sides. The salad for 3.00 is a bargain! If you order a single slice you can get a soda for 50 cents. I think they should extend that deal to whole pizzas at a limit of 2 per just as a catch. Just my thoughts. Pizza toppings werent skimpy and the cheese and sauce had very good flavor. We ordered the combination in case you wonder.

Little pizza store in UC that serves good pizza. The pepperoni pizza was actually surprisingly good and disappeared fast. Would have been a 4 star rating if they weren't so cagey about their specials. I saw a note online that they had a 1 large topping pizza for $11.99. When I called, they said they did not have any specials and when I mentioned the one that I had seen, he said "oh that, it is now $12.99". Other things to note... they also other desserts like baklava and cake. I like that they serve single slices as well which works for a quick lunch. They only have like two small tables, so it is more of a takeout joint.

Really?? I've had a long day and decided to order pizza from this place through Grubhub. It came 20 minutes late, and its cold. COLD. I'm NOT ordering from this junk again...maybe it'd be okay if you went into the actual place. But really, I don't live very far from it, so it should have been delivered on time, and definitely not cold.

I tryed A-town pizza yesterday, and I was very disappointed , with the pizza. positives: the pizza looked good , huge slices, two slices looks like half a large pizza which is good , not bad price $ 7. Something , not bad. Negatives: the taste of the pizza was discusting ! the sauce tasted cheap, the pepperoni tasted like if they reheated it in a microwave! the cheese was semi burnt like the crust on the edges . I had to scarf it down I don't like to waste food. I was hungry and it was tasteless . So disappointed :( I used to go here a couple years back & it was the best pizza spot even if it was really greasy, but the slices were huge witch was always the best part! but now I don't know what happened with the taste hopefully they can try to make it how they used too! if they change this ill consiter trying this again. Only then, would I go back. Hope this helped?

I really like A-town Pizza. While I admit it isn't the best pizza out there, it is by far the best pizza place that will deliver out here. Every other pizza joint is subpar at best. A-town Pizza reminds me of that cheep pizza I could get by the slice in Manhattan. It isn't that upscale NY style pizza like A Slice Of New York (loc in Santa Clara) is, but that familiar quick bite that everyone gets and loves in New York. My only complaints about their pizzas are: 1) They don't put enough sauce. I always order with extra sauce and others have agreed that extra sauce tastes like a normal amount of sauce anywhere else. At least extra sauce is free. 2) Their pizzas are a bit on the expensive side. It isn't horrible, but it wouldn't hurt to be a dollar or three cheaper.

5 Stars for Pizza by the Slice N/A for delivery and anything else they make. I work walking distance from A-Town and they'll put together any combo slice I want for $4 and have it ready in 7 minutes. Awesome NY Style pizza. $3.50 for 1 topping with a soda. I typically get just the pizza slice and purchase a frosty adult beverage from their next door convenience store. 40 ounces to freedom. Seating is limited to two interior tables with 4 chairs each, and one exterior table with 2 chairs. So you probably don't want to bring your bachelorette party here.

Delicious Pizza. Very big for the low price. I tried the other dessert and snacks. Would have been 5 stars if they concentrate on pizza only. The small fridge they use, makes the side items smell and taste like you were eating cardboard. Very friendly staff.

This place is the hookup at $2.50 a slice for cheese and $3.50 for 1 topping. Done in 5 minutes and the pizza pretty decent for price.. Charging for Ranch aint the business though. Otherwise good spot mostly.

Their pizza is bomb, but I've been waiting for my pizza for damn near 2 hours. I get they're busy, but I live two miles away from this place. Whatever happened to deliver in 30 minutes or less or your pizza is free?!

  • Karen W.

My comments are about the delivery service. I've ordered from here multiple times and twice I've ordered through their online menu a specific dessert and gotten something completely different without any kind of phone call or explanation. So the second time I called in to speak with the manager and was told I had a credit to be applied to my next order which had to be phoned in. I called in to order and before I ordered anything wanted to check that there was indeed a credit for dessert and that they had the one I wanted in stock. The guy who answered the phone couldn't confirm that I had a credit so proceeded to put me on hold and then hang up on me. NOT COOL. Also the delivery driver likes to play 50 questions about the area I live in and the surrounding areas. Kinda like he's casing the joint. The pizza isn't good enough to deal with incorrect orders, rude order takers, and nosy delivery drivers.

This place deserve no star, but i wish yelp would allow that. this place has no sanitary system set up. the employees have dirty uniform. making pizzas with not washing their hand. seems so dirty, i even saw some insects on their cutting table. do not recommend. i did garbaged the slice i bought.

So I judge a pizza by its crust...and this crust is effin amazing!!!! My boyfriend and I were having a night in and discovered this place on yelp! Not disappointed what so ever. Not only were they 20 minutes early but it's friggin warm. Best local pizza joint ever....oh the wings..AMAZING.

I order regularly from here as do my Roomies and today was THE worst service I've ever had and am extremely disappointed. I ordered my pizza at 6:00 pm and was told it would be 45 mins. I call at 7:23 pm as it is obviously past 45 mins and was told that the driver left. I call again at 7:43 pm wondering if the driver really had left as it does not take 20 mins from the pizza to my house. By now my stomach is eating itself and yes I am a bit cranky... Yet the person who answers the phone says that he'll find out where the driver is at, really?! Do you not know where your driver is sent and whose food is being delivered? I mean c'mon now, it's been more than an hour and the best you can tell me is: the best I can do is find out where is at and that you are sorry? Uhhhh no that is definitely NOT the best you can do. Especially if a client has been waiting for OVER an hour AND was told the driver had left 20 MINUTES ago! A Town Pizza you have lost a customer, a house actually of 3 grown adults who order pizza on the regular and have sung praises of your pizza. To be told the BEST you can do is find out where the driver is at and that you're sorry does not remedy the situation. I was not looking for a free meal, sides or what ever... What I was wanting to hear was empathy as that was CLEARLY not given nor heard on the 2 phone calls I placed. Yes I understand that it gets busy from time to time and things happen, yet at the same time there needs to be empathy for the customer, especially if it's WAY over the time limit and a SECOND call has to be placed to find out where exactly the food is at....

Wanted to try somewhere new for lunch near work. Been cravin for pizza-by-the-slice and found A-Town. The pizza was great. Had the $4 combo slice with soda for 50cents more. It seemed more like 2 slices of pizza which was awesome! So now.......... I have mixed feelings about going back. The low rating was for what turned me off while waiting for my pizza. I noticed that the guy at the front (he was alone at the time) handles the ingredients for the pizza AFTER handling money from the register. No gloves, no washing after the register.... Fine, I'll let that go. The delivery guy came back from a delivery, went inside, tossed the pizza warming bag over what I think was the ref/cooler... and proceeded to manhandle the pizza ingredients! He was checking to see which ingredients needed to be replenished. I couldnt keep my eyes off of what he was doing afterwards. The guy who was at the front, who initially helped me, was probably wondering why I looked so serious at the guy behind him. I know the pizza gets baked in the oven and all... but, for next time, please have the courtesy to go to the backroom and wash your hands... especially if you just came back from a delivery.

I ordered from them for the first time last night, I like that you can make an order online, very efficient. The Delivery was within the time frame quoted. The food was great, especially the cheesy garlic bread :) Just ordered the Garlic Chicken Pizza..so good!! I'll definitely order this again. :)

I was looking for some relatively cheap pizza nearby, and the two choices were Bronco Billys and A-Town. A-town's was a little bit cheaper and had some slightly more exciting topping choices. The pizza was pretty tasty, a little greasy, and done in a reasonable amount of time. Definitely not the best pizza I've ever had, but probably a place I'll be returning to.

I LOVE A THEIR PIZZA. So the crust is probably one what makes me like their pizza so much; It's crunchy and thin. I like how the pizza is not dripping of oil [really bothers me when I have to put napkins on pizza to soak up the oil] and how well toasted the toppings are on the pizza. Yumm. I usually create my own pizza and I am pretty pleased on how well it always turns out. They also sell slices [which is pretty big for a good price]. The overall pizza is more expensive than the corporate pizza places, but it's SO worth it. I have not tried their other stuff on the menu so I can't speak for that, but what matters most is their pizza so A+.

So.. I don't live in Union City but my friend does and whenever we want delivery A-Town is the one!.. I honestly think they need to change their name. The pizza is really good but the reviews not so much. Maybe if they had a classier name?? Anyways.. We always order Gourmet veggie, thin crust, white sauce. DELICIOUS!.. Seriously. So GOOD. And one of their salads.. Fresh, basic, salad. Delivery time is always about right and the service is good. We have even ventured off the veggie and tried others and have always been happy! Thank you A-Town!

Due to their shitty delivery service, i wasn't able to try their pizza. Ordered a couple of pizzas today and they said it would take 45 minutes to arrive. An hour and 15 minutes later, we called wondering where our pizzas were. We were told that the driver had been hit and that it would take another 30 minutes. Did not even offer a discount for the extra wait. So we canceled our order. We will never call this place again.

I am a Union City local, and I have seen this place almost every day driving home from work. Every time I've been saying that I should really try it sometime, and tonight I finally did. I have been searching ever since I moved here (5+ years) for a more authentic, local pizza than the major chains can provide, and I am certain I finally found it. For a bit of context, I ordered a small combination pizza, garlic cheese bread, and a few exras (soda, cake, etc). First off, the pizza was awesome. The cheese was very high quality; stringy and firm, with good texture, and not oily with pools of grease all over the top of the pizza. They also loaded it with tons of toppings, all of which looked fresh and hand cut, with just the right amount of sauce. The crust--my favorite part--was crunchy on the bottom with a just hint of sweetness, and reminded me of the pizza I used to get on the east coast when I was a little boy (think new york style). You can tell that it was hand made from raw ingredients, and not from a premade mix, like you would get with the big chains. The real coup de grace was the garlic bread. One of the biggest annoyances I have with the national chains (and even some regional ones, like Me-n-Ed's) is that that they don't make the real deal. They just reuse the same dough they use for the pizza, slap some garlic butter and cheese on it, and call it "garlic bread," which it is not--it's a cheap pizza with no sauce or toppings (and usually pretty greasy, too). However, A-Town is different. They give you real garlic bread, wherein they cut a loaf of french bread in half, butter it, then top it with cheese and toast it. Not only was it more authentic, it was also incredibly delicious. Toasty, crunchy, and packed with garlic flavor, without being overly greasy. In this end, I think this is the best pizza place in Union City--no contest. They have definitely earned my business, and this has clearly become my pizza parlor of choice when I'm ordering from home. I am done searching for anything better, because I seriously doubt any other place could compare.

I heard that this place had some good pizza but when I finally tried it I was blown away! Easily the best pizza in the Bay Area! The people who work here are awesome and are the epitome of customer service! I do not buy or eat pizza from anywhere but here. No joke, BEST PIZZA EVER!

The pizza is very good. Probably best in area of north Fremont/ south Hayward and uc. The prices are reasonable and service is ok. The place is hole in wall and Dine-in is not really option. We ordered around 15 minutes before closing and our order was ready without any delays.

The good: Delivery on time The bad: Ordered 2 large 3 topping pizzas, both were over cooked and burnt on the bottom.

Was looking for a pizza joint and this one is super close to my house! It's in an old plaza next to a liquor store....so the location is not nice. Anyways, the hubby and I each got a slice of pizza. $3.50 or cheese & 1 topping (hubby got pepperoni) and $4 for 2 toppings (i got chicken & shrooms). Hella cheap!!!! The slice is HUGE k it was delish! They make it fresh so the wait was about 10 minutes, which is not bad at all. Got their garlic twists $5 and it was soooooooooo delicious! We had 1 piece left and just reheated it the next day and was still bomb diggity! Will definitely be back.

Very Very Good Pizza, some of the best I have ever had. Even my husband who's from the East Coast absolutely loves it. Delivery too which is awesome. Ordering online is really easy and you can order salad, pasta, appetizers, dessert, calzones, soft drinks, and pizza.

Best pizza in Union City, that's for sure. Better prices than Bronco Billy's too. I like their fresh ingredients--I like the addition of fresh garlic on my pizza. Their pizzas are baked in an oven, not cooked on a moving conveyor belt. I have also had their Greek Salad which is very good. I hear their spaghetti is good so I will order it next time. I like their on-line ordering. My order is always ready when promised. I had them deliver once, and it was prompt. No problem. Friendly owners.

Family owned business. Pizzas are much better than chain restaurants, I like their chicken wings as well. I'd recommend this place to others.

came by here last night and love the fact they sold pizza by the slices. The also have a huge menu on the wall of lots of things to choose from. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza and it was only $2.50 and it was hella fresh. Usually places that sell pizza by the slices have it already made and just sitting there under a heat lamp but they actually made it fresh and it took not even 10 minutes. When I got my order it was actually 2 slices and that was a plus! Quality of the pizza was really good and cheesy just the way I like it. Downside it needed a little more sauce but the crust I must say was very good. Not to thick but toasty too. Defin will return if I am ever in the area.

Much better pizza than the big 3. They sell a lot more than just pizza, too, and they will cater.

Pizza is really good, as in better than pizza hut or dominos...I like the way they make their crust it's not greasy... Delivery is well...it could use some improvement. I don't live far at all (yes I'm lazy to go get it lol), but for some reason it takes more than an hour to get a pizza...and I figured out why!!! The delivery guy was going around in circles, 'cause he said he couldn't find my address, it wasn't till a neighbor came out of his house that the delivery guy asked if he knew where my address was and he pointed across the street lol... Guess when I want pizza I'll just have to go pick it up myself =/

I blame this review more for my cousin's taste than the restaurant themselves. This review then is still in progress. We had a pizza delivered to us (which came like 15 minutes late). It was good, although I know that having a pizza fresh is so much better than getting it delivered. But, I digress. We had an olive, ground beef, and mushroom pizza. I tasted this, and I was thinking... meh. I don't think this was the pizza parlor's fault. My cousin really wanted this (she was paying), and she didn't even want onions when she asked me what toppings I liked. (Picky eaters, what can you do?). The pizza didn't taste too great, but I blame the olives and mushrooms fighting with each other in my mouth, rather than holding hands for a smooth ride down my throat. Not a great combination. I want to come back and try something that's actually recommended. This is when the real review will come in.

You can't find good pizza anymore, unless you go to a an independent spot like this one, it is delicious, and I'm helping out small businesses! A win win! I drive from Sacramento once a month just to go there; nice staff and very delicious pizza you just can't get anywhere else! If your a beef lover, I highly recommend the beef pepperoni, just delicious!

I tried again, and I'm happy I did. I ordered the pesto chicken, substituting the chicken for Italian sausage again. I also asked for all pesto, no red sauce. It worked! It was green like it should be, and I got feta cheese this time! Last time, I didn't get it. What I think happened is that I got the regular pesto pizza instead of the chicken pesto pizza last time. It didn't have the feta cheese and sun-dried tomatoes last time. Yay! Success! I hope my lucky streak doesn't end soon. I hope I didn't just jinx it.
